Villa Kujoyama, Kyoto
The project focused on merging traditional Japanese aesthetics with experimental light design to create an immersive, meditative experience. Inspired by the expressive movements of Butoh, the work explored the interplay between the physical body and ephemeral light.
Using motion-sensitive projections, the dancers’ movements generated dynamic patterns that transformed traditional spaces into evolving, immersive environments. The aim was to bridge cultural traditions and contemporary technology, crafting a dialogue between past and future, stillness and motion, presence and transience.
