Artist bio
Tove Skärgård is a Swedish-German interdisciplinary artist whose work redefines the boundaries of performance and visual art through the integration of advanced technologies and immersive storytelling. Based in Berlin, Tove’s creative practice encompasses abstract fine art painting, experimental choreography and performance art that incorporates cutting-edge tools such as motion tracking, augmented reality and interactive installations. Her work integrates art, science and technology, exploring the profound ways in which humans and machines co-create meaning.
Tove graduated with a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance and Experimental Choreography from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she developed a deep understanding of movement as a language for emotional and intellectual expression. She has completed artist residencies at renowned institutions like Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto, where she merged Japanese Butoh dance with experimental light designs, and Room on the Roof in Amsterdam, where she embedded energy-efficient LEDs into textiles fabric design for her performance costumes.
Tove’s collaborations span across multiple industries, working with creatives, sound designers and coders to create multisensory experiences that leave audiences questioning their reality.
